CORELOGIC™ PRODUCT WARRANTY

GENERAL WARRANTY CONDITIONS

FRONTIER SURFACES WARRANTS CORELOGIC™ SPC & LVT, SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING:

1. Installation Guidelines: It is mandatory that the purchaser(s) install CoreLogic™ flooring following Frontier Surface’s installation guidelines which can be found on the website. (https://frontiersurfaces.com/how-to-install/) Adhering to all industry standards is necessary. Specific requirements must be met with regards to moisture related issues. *See below under proper subfloor treatment with regards to moisture concerns on slabs or above areas such as crawl spaces*

2. Transferable Warranty: For residential installations, the warranty is transferable from contractors/installation companies to homeowners, applicable to both new construction and remodels. Commercial installation warranties are non-transferable, limited to the original end user. Special agreements may be considered with proper documentation. Special agreements will be considered if properly documented. Contact warranty@frontiersurfaces.com for more information.

3. Topical Moisture Warranty: The Topical Moisture Warranty applies only for a 72-hour period when the product is installed indoors. This applies to flooring installations only.

4. Installation Limitations: The Product may not be installed in areas of extreme temperatures or humidity.

5. Hidden Defects: In the case of a product defect claim, responsibility under this warranty only applies to hidden defects. Flooring that was installed with obvious visual defects is not covered under this warranty.

6. Moisture Content in Subfloor: In areas of high moisture content in the subfloor, it is likely that mold/mildew growth will occur below the floor. The warranty excludes any structural or appearance issues resulting from exposure to mold/mildew.

7. Warranty Coverage: This warranty applies only to defects inherent to the material supplied. It includes the delamination of the wear layer but does not include wear along the edges of the planks less than 3/16″ from the edge. Frontier Surfaces PA LLC reserves the right to repair or replace the product, at its option. If replacement of the flooring is approved, only SPC and LVT flooring will be offered.

8. Exclusions and Abnormal Use: This warranty does not apply to flooring that has been put to abnormal use or abused in any way. Abnormal/abusive conditions include, but are not limited to:

  • Damage caused by negligence, intentional abuse, or fire.
  • Water damage from storms, floods, excessive plumbing leaks, appliance leaks, or any other event normally covered by homeowners’ insurance.
  • Damage caused by improper alterations of the product.
  • Damage caused by moisture remaining on the floor for a period of greater than 72 hours. Moisture exposure exceeding 72 hours could damage your flooring.
  • Flooring not installed indoors.
  • Damage caused by structures surrounding our products such as walls, subfloors, fixtures, furniture, underlayment, molding, trims, or anything else compromised by moisture or other damage.
  • Damage caused by vacuum cleaner beater bar, rolling caster wheels, and cutting from sharp objects.
  • Indentation or damage from improper loads including high heels; spiked shoes; rolling loads; and/or chairs or other furniture not having floor protectors.
  • Damage caused by abuse such as moving appliances across the floor without adequate protection. To protect your floor from scuffing and tears when moving appliances or heavy furniture, put protection on your floor and “walk” the item across it.
  • Loss of gloss/scratching.
  • Damage from prolonged exposure to sunlight if not properly addressed.
  • Minor color, shade, or texture variations between samples or printed color photography and the actual material.
  • Floors that are graded “irregular or seconds” or sold “as is” without warranty.
  • Issues resulting from material not properly acclimating. (See installation instructions for more details.)
  • Issues that arise from not using a proper moisture vapor barrier especially over concrete slabs and crawl spaces. (See below.)
  • Installation, as described below.

RESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL INSTALLATIONS

Frontier Surfaces does not warrantee installation. Installation issues/errors should be addressed with the contractor who installed the floor. We recommend that all flooring products be installed by flooring contractors who have demonstrated expertise in installing these types of materials for
residential/commercial use.

WHAT WILL WE DO IF A COVERED WARRANTY EVENT OCCURS?

RESIDENTIAL INSTALLATIONS:

If a covered event should occur within the specified Limited Warranty Period for the applicable flooring product, Frontier Surfaces will furnish comparable Corelogic™ flooring of similar color, pattern, and quality, for either the repair of the defective area or the replacement of the floor, at Frontier Surfaces’s option. We will certainly try to do what is best for the customer experience. And, if your floor was professionally installed, Frontier Surfaces will also pay labor costs within reason for the direct repairs or replacement.

15/20/25 - YEAR RESIDENTIAL FINISH WARRANTY

Depending on which product is being used; CoreLogic™ SPC and LVT Flooring warrants, to the end user, that the surface finish will NOT wear through for fifteen (15), twenty (20), or twenty-five (25) years from the date of purchase, when used under normal residential traffic conditions, and if preventive and regular maintenance is performed in accordance with CoreLogic’s™ maintenance procedures. Please refer to our chart below to determine which warranty your product falls under. This finish warranty excludes any damages resulting from, caused by or contributed to in any way, improper environmental conditions, indentations, scratches, lack of proper maintenance, use of unauthorized cleaning products, misuse, negligence, accidents, pets, spiked/high-heeled shoes, shoes not under proper repair, standing water beyond 72 hours, erosion, pebbles, sand, other abrasives, surface checks/splits, and/or failure to protect the flooring material during move-in and/or other construction activities in the immediate/adjacent area as well as any of the aforementioned exclusions. Loss of gloss is not warranted.

72-HOUR TOPICAL MOISTURE WARRANTY

The Limited Topical Moisture Warranty covers only topical moisture resulting from normal household use, such as wet shoes, spills, or dripping while exiting the bathtub or shower, provided such topical moisture is removed within 72 hours. The warranty excludes damage caused by flooding, broken pipes, or continuously running water. The warranty covers the delamination of the wear layer but does not include wear/discoloration along the edges of the planks less than 3/16″ from the edge or end of the board. This warranty does not cover any costs to remove/replace/refinish molding/trim and kitchen cabinets.

SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS WITH INSTALLATIONS OVER SLABS OR CRAWL SPACES

At Frontier Surfaces, we understand the importance of protecting your home from water vapor damage. Moisture can wreak havoc on your flooring, causing mold, mildew, and even complete destruction. That is why we require the use of vapor barriers, also known as moisture barriers, to prevent moisture from penetrating your subfloor. These barriers are typically made of a sheet of plastic that slows the movement of moisture and are essential when installing floors or walls in areas prone to dampness or excess moisture, such as basements, ceilings, or crawl spaces. Flooring moisture barriers are placed beneath the floor’s underlayment and can be purchased separately. If water vapor does penetrate through a concrete subfloor, a vapor diffusion retarder will slow the movement of moisture, preventing damage to your floor. We recommend one of the following: vapor barrier rolls that tape together, creating a full floating sheet or barriers that can be rolled or painted on. Trust Frontier Surfaces to provide you with the technical expertise and quality products you need to protect your home from water vapor damage.

COMMERCIAL INSTALLATIONS:

This Limited Warranty covers defects in our products. If you report a defect in writing to Frontier Surfaces within one year of purchase, we will provide new material of the same or similar grade and pay for reasonable labor costs if our product is determined to be defective. If you report a defect after one year but within two years of purchase, we will still provide new material and pay for 50% of the labor costs provided the material is determined to be defective. If you report a defect after two years but within the specified Limited Warranty Period, we will provide new material but will not pay for labor costs. Please note that we will not cover defects that were apparent before or at the time of installation.

5/10/20 - YEAR LIGHT COMMERCIAL FINISH WARRANTY

Depending on which product is being used; CoreLogic™ SPC and LVT Flooring warrants, to the original purchaser, that the surface finish will NOT wear through for five (5), ten (10), and twenty (20) years from the date of purchase, when used under normal light commercial traffic conditions, and if preventive and regular maintenance is performed in accordance with CoreLogic’s™ maintenance procedures.

Please refer to our chart below to determine which warranty your product falls under.

THIRD PARTY INSPECTIONS

It is essential for our flooring company to rely on third-party inspections when assessing claims to ensure the integrity of our products and provide our customers with the best possible service. Through these inspections, we can accurately determine whether the issue at hand is a non-product issue or a result of defective materials. By taking this rigorous approach, we can maintain the highest standards of quality and guarantee our customers receive the best possible experience. These inspections are often a great learning experience for all parties involved. Frontier Surfaces reserves the right to have a third-party inspection provided to determine the root cause(s) of all issues. These inspections are typically paid for by the responsible party after all determinations have been made. We will be happy to set these up as needed but Frontier Surfaces will not pay for inspections if the results determine the product is not at fault.
